Deep Cove Sunset and Seafood

The sun dips below the mountains into the water, painting the cove in gold before the evening chill sets in. This plan centers on that fleeting light, followed by a proper dinner to warm up.

Timeline

  1. 16:11

    Honey's

Grab a legendary honey-glazed donut and a coffee from Honey's. It is a quick stop to fuel up before the main event. The cafe opens early, so you can get here well before the light starts to fade.

  2. 16:56

    Deep Cove & Panorama Park

Walk to Panorama Park. Find a spot on the grassy areas or near the beach with a clear view of the water. This is the prime viewing angle for the sun setting toward the WSW. Sit down and watch the golden light build.

  3. 17:56

    Deep Cove & Panorama Park

Stay as the light fades. The cove and mountains take on a deep blue tone. The transition from golden hour to twilight is best appreciated from this same spot before the stars come out.

  4. 18:41

    Arms Reach Bistro

Head to Arms Reach Bistro for dinner. It is just a short walk from the park. Order from their seafood and pasta menu to enjoy a warm, upscale meal after the evening air.

Local tip

The sun sets toward the WSW in January, so face the water from Panorama Park for the best view. Arms Reach Bistro is open until 22:00, giving you plenty of time to linger after the sun goes down.
