Arrive at the 1912 Mill Site. Find the stone foundations of the boiler house and the base of the steam sawmill on the right side of the trail. Look for the remains of the Donkey Engine in the woods to the left. Settle in before the light changes.

Wait in the golden light. The sun is low in the sky, casting long shadows across the stone ruins. The atmosphere is quiet and historic.

Watch the sunset. The sun sets toward the WSW, disappearing behind the tree line. This is the peak moment of the visit.

Stay for the afterglow. The light softens and the ruins take on a twilight hue. It is a peaceful way to end the evening.
