Grab a tea or coffee at Capybara Coffee & Tea. It is a calm spot to start your evening and is open well before the sun goes down.
16:37
Walk up to Long Son Pagoda. The 24-metre white Buddha statue is striking against the darkening sky. Remember that entry is free and to ignore anyone claiming to be a student asking for donations.
17:36
Stay for the sunset. On 15 January the sun sets toward the WSW at 17:36. The pagoda’s orientation and the white statue will catch the final light beautifully.
18:06
End the night with a drink at Altitude Rooftop Bar. It is one of the highest bars in the city and offers great night views of Nha Trang. It opens at 17:00 so it will be ready for you.
Local tip
The pagoda is free to enter. Beware of scammers claiming to be students studying in the temple who demand donations before you go up. They have no affiliation with the school.
Check before you go
- Long Son Pagoda is open 08:00-17:00. Since the sunset is at 17:36, you can view the exterior and the statue from the grounds until closing, but you may need to adjust your timing or view the exterior after hours if the gates close strictly at 17:00. Altitude Rooftop Bar opens at 17:00.
