    Head to the Skywalk at Bar Beach. It is located 38 minutes walk from the anchor in a NNE direction, offering a higher vantage point as the evening settles.

Local tip

The Beach Hotel is a Newcastle institution. If you are there on a Sunday night, the front deck is the best seat in the house for the sunset view over Merewether Beach.
