Timeline

  1. 15:10

    Love and Dough

Grab a slice at Love and Dough. It opens at 11:30, so you have plenty of time before the golden hour begins. The fresh dough and tomato sauce give you a solid base for the evening.

  2. 16:10

    Petrosino Square

Walk 42 minutes northwest to Petrosino Square. This small triangular park in Lower Manhattan offers a quiet pause before the main event. It is bounded by Cleveland Place, Lafayette, and Kenmare Streets.

  3. 16:53

    Battery Park

Head to Battery Park for the sunset. The sun sets toward the WSW at 16:53. The park faces New York Harbor, providing an unobstructed view of the sky turning gold and orange over the water. The golden light starts around 16:10, so you will have about 40 minutes of warm light to enjoy the view before the final dip.

  4. 17:38

    Rim Nam Thai Kitchen

End the night at Rim Nam Thai Kitchen. It is only a 9-minute walk from Quarters A and stays open until 21:00. It is the perfect spot to digest your earlier meal and watch the city lights reflect off the water.

Local tip

The walk from Quarters A to Petrosino Square is long (42 minutes). Use that time to stretch your legs and enjoy the transition from the historic Vinegar Hill neighborhood to the busy streets of Lower Manhattan.
