New York Botanical Garden Farmers Market
Pick up a coffee or snack at the farmers market. Note that it is only open Wednesdays from 10AM to 3PM, so this stop works best if you are visiting on a Wednesday. If it is not a Wednesday, skip this step and head straight to the garden.

Walk through the New York Botanical Garden. The 250-acre site offers plenty of space to find a quiet bench or path. The 27-minute walk from the Valentine-Varian House means you should start your journey there if you want to include the museum, but for this sunset-focused plan, the garden is your primary destination.

Watch the sun set toward the WNW. The golden light begins about an hour before, giving you time to settle in. Find a spot with a clear view of the western horizon.
Local tip
The farmers market hours are strict. If you arrive on a day it is closed, the market will not be open for purchases.
