Arrive at Green Camp Picnic Area and park. The area is quiet before dawn, giving you space to set up. Bring your own drinking water as there are no facilities. Check the route if you need driving directions from Narrabri via Maitland Street southbound, then Old Gunnedah Road and Kaputar Road.

Walk along the Yulludunida Walking Track. Bring binoculars and cameras. The early light is soft and the air is still. This is the time to spot local wildlife before the heat of the day.

Watch the sun set toward the WSW. The sky will shift from deep blue to warm gold. This is the main event. Stay until the golden light fades.
Local tip
There are no food or drink shops nearby and no toilets at the site. Bring all supplies with you. The site is free but has no barbecues.
