Timeline
16:18
Stop by Hana Cafe for a drink and a bite. It is a short walk from the castle grounds and opens early enough to catch you before the main event.
16:43
Walk up to Nagoya Castle. Find a spot near the main keep where you can see the roof. The two golden carp (kin-no-shachi) will catch the last light.
17:03
Watch the sun set toward the WSW. The golden light on the castle roof is the highlight of the moment.
17:33
Head to the Nagoya TV Tower. It is a short walk from the castle and offers a higher vantage point to see the city lights begin to twinkle.
Local tip
The walk from the castle to the TV Tower is about 15 minutes. If you want to keep it shorter, stay in the park area near the castle.
Check before you go
- Hana Cafe is open until 16:30. This plan assumes a sunset time of 17:03. If you are visiting on a different date, check the sunset time and adjust the order. If the sun sets later, you might need to swap the cafe stop for a later time or choose a shop that is open later.
