Mykonos Town Daytime Walk

Escape the midday heat with a leisurely coastal stroll and a late lunch.

Best time: noneAbout 180 min

Timeline

  1. 14:30

    Gioras Pastry Café

Start with a sweet treat at Gioras Pastry Café. The bakery opens at 08:00, so it is fully stocked and ready for you by mid-afternoon. Grab a pastry to go.

  2. 14:40

    Megali Ammos

Walk 10 minutes south along the coast toward Megali Ammos. This is the nearest beach to the town center. The strong northerly winds keep the beach free of umbrellas and sunbeds, making it a quiet, breezy spot to stretch your legs and watch the waves.

  3. 15:10

    Niko's Taverna

Head back toward the town center for lunch at Niko's Taverna. This popular spot serves authentic Greek food at reasonable prices. Be prepared for a crowd, as the restaurant is often packed.

  4. 16:30

    Popolo

End your afternoon at Popolo. This café is open until 23:00, offering a calm place to sit, have a coffee or drink, and recover from the walk.

Local tip

The beach at Megali Ammos has a huge slab in the sea which makes swimming difficult. It is best enjoyed for the view and the breeze.
