    Appaloosa Bar & Restaurant

Grab a cocktail and some Mexican-European bites at Appaloosa Bar & Restaurant. The relaxed atmosphere is perfect for settling in before the crowds arrive. Note that as of April 2025, this location is temporarily closed and has moved to a pop-up at 'El burro', so check the route to find the new spot.

  2. 16:39

    Aegean Maritime Museum

Walk four minutes from the restaurant to the Aegean Maritime Museum. Enter the traditional 19th-century building and explore the exhibits on Greek maritime history. The museum is open until 21:00, giving you plenty of time to wander through the collections at a leisurely pace.

  3. 17:24

    Sunset Viewpoint

Step out of the museum and walk four minutes to the Sunset Viewpoint. Face west towards the WSW. At 17:24, the sun dips below the horizon, casting a final golden glow over the sea. This is the moment you have been waiting for.

  4. 18:09

    Kounelas Fish Tavern

End your evening with dinner at Kounelas Fish Tavern. It is a short four-minute walk from the viewpoint. This small fish tavern in a garden setting serves fresh fish and Greek salads. It is often full, so be prepared for a wait or arrive early if possible.

Local tip

The museum is located next to Lena's House in the centre of town. The sunset view is best when facing WSW. Check if Appaloosa Bar & Restaurant is operating at its pop-up location before you go.
