Timeline
16:20
Grab a coffee and a pastry at Wildmosers, the place that claims to be the birthplace of Munich Weißwurst. It is open early, friendly, and perfect for fueling up before the main event.
17:20
Walk to the Neues Rathaus observation deck. The tower is open until 18:00, so you have time to ride the lift up and take in the views while the city prepares for the evening.
18:25
Stand on the square below the Neues Rathaus as the sun sets toward the WSW. The golden light washes over the neo-Gothic exterior, and just before the dark, the Glockenspiel cranks into life with its medieval minstrels and jousting knights.
18:55
Head to Augustiner Stammhaus for dinner and a drink. This traditional beer hall and restaurant has great atmosphere and serves traditional food. It is open until 22:00 on Sundays and 24:00 on weekdays, making it a solid choice for an evening meal.
Local tip
