Timeline

  1. 11:30

    Écomusée du fier monde

Walk into the Bain Genereux. This 1920s art deco former indoor public pool now houses the Écomusée du fier monde. The exhibits focus on the industrial and working-class history of the surrounding Centre-Sud district, including the modern-day Le Village and Sainte-Marie neighborhoods. The museum opens at 11:00 on Wednesdays, so you will arrive just as the doors open to the public, avoiding the midday rush.

  2. 12:15

    Chez Gatsé

Head to Chez Gatsé for lunch. This Tibetan restaurant is set just below eye level and offers momos (Tibetan dumplings), butter-tea, and exotic vegetarian and meat dishes spiced with ginger, garlic, and peppers. The lunch menu runs from 11:30 to 14:30, making it the perfect timing for a mid-afternoon meal. Mains are reasonably priced at $5-9, with set meals at $6.50 for lunch.

  3. 12:45

    L'Amère à Boire

Finish your outing with a drink at L'Amère à Boire. This fine brew pub in the Quartier Latin serves consistently good lagers and ales inspired by Czech, German, and English styles. The decor features wooden tables and a relaxed atmosphere. It is open until 03:00 on most days, so it is easy to pop in for a final pint after your meal.
