Start the hike up Cerro de la Silla. The trail is about 25 minutes uphill. Bring water if you did not pick it up earlier, as there is a minimarket at the top but none on the lower trail.

Watch the sunrise over the city from the rocks. The view is terrific and the saddle shape of the mountain frames the morning light perfectly.

Head down. Take an Uber or city bus (lines 223 or 93 from Zona Rosa) back toward the city center to find breakfast.

Stop at La Virgen, Cerro De La Silla. It is a monument in a park area where you can rest and reflect on the view before finding a cafe.
Local tip
The minimarket at the top of Cerro de la Silla is your best bet for water if you forget it on the way up. Public transport is frequent from Zona Rosa if you do not hike all the way to the peak.

- Check bus lines 223 and 93 schedules if you plan to use public transport down from the mountain.
- Sunrise times vary by season. On 15 January it is 07:28, on 15 April it is 06:18, on 15 July it is 05:59, and on 15 October it is 06:39.
