Walk 23 minutes north to the Miyajima Public Aquarium. It is worth a stop if you want to see more than 380 sea creatures and daily animal events such as sea lion shows. The walk from Kakiya is short and straightforward.
12:00
Head to the summit of Mt. Misen. If you have energy to spare, the hike takes about an hour. Look for the signs for the ropeway and keep going. For a more strenuous and rewarding route, take the Omoto Pass which begins in the mossy park near the aquarium.
Local tip
The hike to Mt. Misen takes about an hour depending on rest stops. If you prefer a lighter pace, the ropeway is an option, but the Omoto Pass offers a more immersive experience through the mossy park.
