Timeline
15:00
Grab a latte and a seat at CafeNeto. The coffee is the best in town, and the morning crowd will have cleared by now, leaving a calm space to watch the light begin to shift.
16:00
Walk the 15-minute green trail around the Carpentry. The basalt slabs look like man-made planks, and the late afternoon shadows will start to define their sharp geometric edges.
16:25
Head to the lay-by on highway 40. This spot faces east, but from here you can look back west toward the horizon. The sun sets toward the WSW, casting a final glow over the crater rim.
17:30
End the evening at HaHavit. It opens at 16:00, so you can settle in for sushi and drinks as the sky turns dark. It is open daily until 04:00, giving you plenty of time to unwind.
Local tip
Check the route to the green hiking trail if you have not walked it before. The lay-by on highway 40 is a convenient stopping point, but be mindful of traffic.
