Timeline

  1. 15:46

    CafeNeto

Start with a latte and a salad at the local café. The coffee is widely considered the best in town, and it is the perfect way to settle in before the light changes. Arrive early enough to enjoy the food while it is still bright out.

  2. 16:16

    Har Gamal Viewpoint

Walk up to the highway lay-by. This spot is just where the road passes the town and begins its descent into the crater. It offers an unobstructed view of the landscape and faces east, giving you a clear perspective of the terrain as the sun begins its final descent.

  3. 17:01

    Har Gamal Viewpoint

Stay at the highway lay-by for the moment. In March, the golden hour starts around 16:26 and the sun sets at 17:01, casting long shadows across the crater. This is the peak time to watch the light hit the edges of the Mitzpe Ramon landscape.

  4. 17:46

    HaHavit

End the evening with sushi. Head to the sushi restaurant which opens at 16:00 and stays open late. It is a convenient stop after the walk, offering a relaxed atmosphere to digest the view and the day.

Local tip

The highway viewpoint is a small lay-by, so be careful when parking. The café is open until 23:00 on weekdays and Sundays, and until 18:00 on Fridays.
