Timeline

  1. 15:30

    St. Anne's Church

Stand in St. Anna Square and watch the late afternoon light hit the red roof of the church. The low sun highlights the late Baroque and Neoclassical details of the facade and the Czech-cap vault inside.

  2. 15:50

    Rossita kisvendéglő

Walk to Rossita kisvendéglő for a quick bite. It is an Italian restaurant and pizzeria with a Mediterranean feel. Since it is winter, they open at 12:00 on weekdays and weekends, so it is open and ready for you.

  3. 16:20

    Avas Lookout Tower

Head to the Avas Lookout Tower. It is a 72-metre tall TV tower on Avas hill. Arrive just as the sun dips below the horizon toward the WSW. The panoramic view of the city is at its most atmospheric in the fading light.

  4. 17:00

    Régiposta Kisvendéglő

End the evening with dinner at Régiposta Kisvendéglő. This restaurant stays open until 19:00 on weekdays and 16:00 on Sundays. On 15 January, sunset is at 16:10, so you have plenty of time to eat before they close at 19:00.

Local tip

The walk from the church to the food spot is short, but the climb to the Avas Lookout Tower and Régiposta is steep. Wear comfortable shoes. Check if Régiposta is open on your specific day of the week, as hours vary.
