Hyesan Seowon

혜산서원

Hyesan Seowon in Miryang is a tranquil Confucian academy where visitors can take part in traditional hanbok experience programs. Participants can choose from a variety of colorful hanbok, stroll through the serene academy grounds, and take memorable photos against the backdrop of the elegant buildings and scenic courtyard. The program may also include additional cultural activities such as traditional tea ceremonies, Korean music performances (gayageum, daegeum, or gugak singing), and craft workshops. The hanbok experience is one of Miryang’s representative traditional cultural tourism programs, making it a perfect activity for families, friends, or couples to create special memories together.

It is a popular tourist destination where visitors can experience horseback riding and connect with horses. It attracts many family visitors and offers various riding experiences and programs to enjoy in a natural setting.

Miryang Arirang Festival

밀양아리랑대축제

Held every May, this is Miryang's representative folk music and cultural festival celebrating the traditional 'Miryang Arirang,' inscribed as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2012. Originating in 1957, the festival aims to preserve and develop this musical heritage. The highlight is the 'Miryanggang Odyssey,' a large-scale multimedia musical performance held against the backdrop of Yeongnamnu Pavilion and the Miryang River, telling local history and the Arirang story. Visitors can also enjoy exhibitions, singing competitions, creative sound contests, and numerous participatory cultural programs.

Miryang Cinema

밀양시네마

This cinema is the only movie theater in Miryang. It opened on August 10, 2008, and has since been operating as a local cultural venue. Unlike multiplex chains in big cities, it is a community-based theater with a small auditorium (about 300 seats) that screens both the latest releases and independent art films.

Miryang Ice Valley Cable Car

영남알프스얼음골케이블카

This is a round-trip cable car with a track length of 1.8km, which can take you to the upper station at an altitude of 1,020m. You can experience something new with the Yeongnam Alps Ice Valley Cable Car, taking in the magnificent Yeongnam Alps and traveling along the mysterious "Sky Road" that connects to Cheonhwangsan Sky Garden.

Miryang Municipal Archery Center

밀양시국궁장

It is a traditional archery range located in Salnae Village, Hwalseong-dong, Miryang. It was established by integrating several archery ranges and operates as a unified facility. Visitors can experience traditional archery, which helps train both mind and body, while enjoying the beautiful natural surroundings. The center is known for having top-quality targets and facilities and is recognized as a prominent site for traditional archery sports and cultural experiences.

Taking place every year from August 8 to 10 along the Miryang riverside, this summer festival features water play events, live music performances, kayak competitions, and a food festival. Running from October 25 to November 30 at the Sunshine Miryang Theme Park, this autumnal agricultural festival showcases local produce through sales, tasting events, farming experiences, performances, and flea markets. It celebrates rural abundance and promotes regional agricultural brands.

National Miryang Meteorological Science Museum

국립밀양기상과학관

It opened in May 2020 and offers the largest tornado simulation experience in Korea. It is closed every Monday, on January 1st, and during major holiday periods. In addition to the tornado and climate phenomena experiences, the museum features various attractions such as the Ice Valley icicles, weather forecasting, and briefing sessions.
