Timeline
09:00
Enter the Ambrosian Gallery and Library right as it opens. The morning light is soft and the halls are empty, giving you the best chance to view the Leonardo Atlantic Codex in peace.
09:45
Walk seven minutes to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. Stop at Biffi for a coffee or a light lunch. It is an old-fashioned spot inside the grand mall, perfect for people-watching under the glass roof.
10:45
Head to the Duomo. It is an eight-minute walk from the Galleria. Spend the next hour admiring the massive white marble facade and the intricate spires. The piazza is busy, but the sheer scale of the cathedral is impressive.
Local tip
The library is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Check the route if you need to get back to your accommodation after.
