Grab a quick coffee and a slice of cake at Biffi. It is an old-fashioned restaurant in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele that opens early, so you can start your evening here while the light is still bright.
16:21
Walk through the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. The glass roof and cupola look stunning in the late afternoon sun. This is the mother of all shopping malls and a splendid 19th-century palace.

Position yourself in the piazza facing the Duomo. The cathedral is a massive, impressive late Gothic confection in white marble. With the sun setting toward the WSW, the golden light will hit the facade and spires beautifully.
17:36
End the evening with pizza at Pizzeria Gino Sorbillo. It is likely the best pizza in town at a reasonable price. Note that people line up before 19:00, so arrive early to avoid the wait.
Local tip
Biffi allows you to have breakfast from 07:30, but it is open all day. For the pizza place, coming early is the only way to avoid the queue.
