Timeline
19:23
Pick up a coffee and a pastry at Caffè Cova. It is one of Milan's oldest coffeehouses, located just a short walk east from the theatre. The late afternoon light filters beautifully through the Galleria's glass roof before you head south.
19:43
Walk south to the Fondazione Teatro Alla Scala. Spend the next twenty minutes exploring the museum and the historic halls. This gives you time to settle in before the main event outside.
20:08
Head south-east to the Duomo piazza. Stand in the square and watch the sun set toward the west-north-west. The white marble facade catches the fading golden light, creating a striking contrast against the darkening sky.
20:38
End the evening with a drink at Todos a Cuba. It is a lively bar located near the Scala, perfect for unwinding after the walk. It stays open late, so you can linger as the city nightlife begins.
Local tip
The walk between the Scala and the Duomo is about seven minutes. The light changes quickly at sunset, so keep moving to catch the best angle on the cathedral facade.
