Walk into Parque Hundido before the crowds arrive. The park is large and popular with families on weekends, but early morning offers a peaceful chance to admire the 50 reproductions of pre-Hispanic sculptures, including the large Olmec head.

Watch the sun rise toward the WSW. The golden light starts about 17 minutes after sunrise, casting a warm glow over the park's green spaces and sculptures.

Head to Fonda Margarita for breakfast. It is open from 06:30, so you can arrive just as the morning light settles. Bon Apetit calls it the home-style Mexican breakfast that dreams are made of.
Local tip
The park is accessible via Metrobus to Parque Hundido or Metro to Mixcoac. Arriving early helps you secure a good spot to view the sunrise before the weekend families arrive.
