Grab a coffee and a slice of avocado toast at Cafe Toscano. It is one of the most popular spots in the neighborhood for a reason, with a menu that includes light food and brunch favorites. The outdoor seating is perfect for people-watching before the evening rush.

    Monumento a la Independencia

Walk east from the museum area to the roundabout on Paseo de la Reforma. Stand back from the traffic and look up at the victory column. As the golden light hits the statue, the details of the angel and the base become sharp against the brightening sky. The sun sets toward the WSW, framing the monument perfectly.

Head to Handshake Speakeasy, just a short walk from the monument. This classy traditional bar with a 1900s aesthetic is known for innovative cocktails. It is a great place to settle in after the walk and enjoy the transition from day to night in one of the city's top-rated bars.
