Timeline

  1. 08:30

    Gessho-ji

Walk the grounds of Gessho-ji to see the graves of the Matsudaira clan. The temple opened at 08:30, so arriving now means you beat the crowds and enjoy the quietest atmosphere.

  2. 08:45

    Saiundo

Walk 10 minutes to Saiundo. Pick up Wakakusa, the green plum-flavored sweets that were a favorite of Lord Fumai, the seventh Daimyo of Matsue. The shop is open until 18:30.

  3. 08:55

    京店ギャートルズ広場

Walk 23 minutes east to Kyoten Gyatoruzu Plaza. Find a spot on the benches to rest and enjoy the sweets you just bought. The plaza is a quiet place to pause in the middle of the day.
