Best time: noneAbout 180 min

Timeline

  1. 09:00

    Musée de la Palmeraie

Arrive at the Musée de la Palmeraie as soon as it opens. The building is made of rammed earth and sits in old agricultural buildings in the south of the Palmeraie. Explore the small collection of contemporary art and the room dedicated to Moroccan artists. The architecture is the main draw here if you have not seen it before.

  2. 10:00

    Musée de la Palmeraie

Spend the next hour in the gardens. They are nicely made and provide a quiet place to relax away from the main tourist paths. This is a good time to sit and enjoy the silence before heading back.

  3. 11:00

    Café Arabe

Head to Café Arabe for lunch. The restaurant has a lovely downstairs courtyard where you can eat Moroccan or Italian dishes. It is a short walk from the area where you would have taken the bus or taxi back from the museum.

  4. 12:00

    Chez Bismilah

Finish your afternoon at Chez Bismilah. The owner is kind and the chef cooks perfect traditional Moroccan recipes. Order the Tayine Royale and enjoy the amazing view from the rooftop.

Local tip

The museum is off the main tourist paths. You must get a taxi or take bus 17 towards Palmeraie. The route with the museum is off to the left side of the road at the crossroads just before the Atacadao supermarket. Follow the road for about 500 m.
