Timeline
17:20
Grab a mint tea or coffee at Café des Epices. The terrace is one of the best spots in the Medina for people-watching and getting your bearings before the crowds thicken.
18:05
Walk up to the roof terrace of Maison de la Photographie. This is one of the highest points in the Medina. Order the fixed-price menu lunch or a snack and wait for the light to change. The panoramic views over the city and the High Atlas mountains are spectacular as the sun begins its descent.
18:50
Stay on the terrace. The sun sets toward the WSW, casting long shadows and golden light across the rooftops. This is the perfect moment to take in the view before the city lights start to flicker on.
19:35
Head to Le Foundouk for dinner. It is a short walk from the photography museum. Enjoy Moroccan and European cuisine on their roof terrace or bar as the evening settles in.
Local tip
Maison de la Photographie is open until 19:00, so you have just enough time to enjoy the sunset before they close. Le Foundouk is open Tuesday to Sunday, so check if your visit falls on a Monday.
