Grab a chocolate or two at Old Firehall Confectionary. The display of fancy chocolates is worth a look even if you just want a quick bite before heading out.
16:35
Walk to the Varley Art Gallery. Arrive with half an hour to spare to browse the small collection, which includes works by Group of Seven artist F.H. Varley, while the light is still good.
17:05
Find a spot near the windows or outside the gallery to watch the sunset. The sun sets toward the WSW, casting a golden glow over the grounds as the day ends.
17:50
End the evening with pasta or pizza at Il Postino. The converted house with a front patio offers a cozy spot to digest your gallery visit and enjoy the night.
Local tip
Check opening hours before you go. The gallery is open until 16:00 on weekdays (Su-Th) and 17:00 on Saturdays. If you visit on a Friday, it stays open until 20:00. Il Postino is open from 17:00, so timing your sunset view right before dinner works perfectly.
