Timeline

  1. 14:58

    Tavern on the Green

Start with a leisurely breakfast at Tavern on the Green. The historic building, once a sheep paddock, is now one of New York's most famous dining spots. Arrive early to secure a table before the midday rush.

  2. 15:58

    Dakota Building

Walk 8 minutes to the Dakota Building. Stand on Central Park West and look up at the massive apartment building that was home to John Lennon and Yoko Ono. It is a quiet moment to reflect on the history here.

  3. 16:13

    Strawberry Fields

Walk 3 minutes southeast to Strawberry Fields. This public art installation in Central Park was named in memory of John Lennon in 1981. The 'Imagine' mosaic is a peaceful place to pause.

  4. 16:58

    The Boathouse

Walk 11 minutes to The Boathouse. Head to the Loeb Boathouse on the Lake. Order a coffee or a light snack from the express cafe or sit down at the outdoor bar if the weather permits. The lake views are best in the morning light.

  5. 18:28

    Strawberry Fields

Walk back towards Strawberry Fields and the Dakota area. As the golden light begins around 18:58, the shadows lengthen across Central Park. Return to the area near the Dakota or Strawberry Fields to watch the evening light hit the park trees and the building facade.
