Timeline
17:00
Grab a drink and a bite at the tavern. The atmosphere is lively, and it is just a short walk from the park. Check if you need a reservation for dinner, as the main dining room is upscale.
17:45
Walk around the perimeter of the park. You cannot enter the private green, but the iron gates and the view of the old buildings across the street are beautiful in the fading light.
18:15
Stand at the corner of 18th Street and Irving Place. Face west to catch the last rays of sun hitting the buildings as the sky turns pink and orange.
Local tip
McSorley's is a popular spot, so it may be crowded. If you prefer a quieter drink, consider grabbing a beer from a nearby shop before heading to the park.
