Walk 3 minutes north-northeast to Gudaibiya Palace. This is the viewing spot for the massive pink building with the pearl-coloured dome. Stand here and wait for the light to hit the facade.
17:30
The golden light starts around 17:30 in mid-April. The sun is setting toward the WNW, illuminating the palace's distinctive architecture. This is the quietest time to appreciate the view before the evening crowds arrive.
18:00
Walk 4 minutes to Al-Suraj for a late snack. It is known for having one of the best shwarma in Bahrain for a very low price, offering a quick and satisfying end to the outing.
Local tip
The palace is a working residence and venue for political meetings, so keep your voice down and respect any restricted areas. The best views are from the public walkway near Bani Otbah Avenue.
