Timeline

  1. 17:12

    Bar Tambayan

Grab a bite at Bar Tambayan. It is widely considered the best Filipino restaurant in the city and is open late, so you can enjoy a relaxed meal without rushing.

  2. 17:42

    Plaza de Castilla

Walk to the center of Plaza de Castilla. The tall obelisk and the Gate of Europe (Puerta de Europa) frame the boulevard. Find a spot near the slanted towers to watch the sky.

  3. 18:12

    Plaza de Castilla

Watch the sun set toward the WSW. The light catches the glass and steel of the skyscraper district, creating a striking contrast against the darkening sky.

  4. 18:42

    Bar Tambayan

Return to Bar Tambayan or stay nearby for a digestif. The area stays lively into the night, making it a comfortable place to end the evening.

Local tip

The walk from the food spot to the plaza is short. If you prefer to keep moving after sunset, the Metro at Plaza de Castilla (lines 1, 9, 10) is right there.
