Grab a drink or early bite at Clube Militar. This former club for Portuguese military officers is now a classy restaurant. It’s a good place to settle in and watch the light change before the walk up.
17:02
Walk 31 minutes SW to Macau Tower. Take the elevator up to the viewing platform. The outdoor area offers a great view over Macau and Taipa. Get there before the sun dips below the horizon to catch the final golden light.
18:32
After dark, walk 15 minutes back towards Sé to Wong Chi Kei. It is a reliable spot for rice and noodles, open till late. The atmosphere is local and comforting after the cold air at the tower.
19:02
End the evening at Porto Exterior, just a 2-minute walk from Wong Chi Kei. This bustling, unpretentious spot serves reasonably authentic Portuguese and Macanese fare. Try the arroz de cabidela and wash it down with a glass of house wine.
Local tip
The walk from the tower back to Sé is straightforward but hilly in parts. Wear comfortable shoes. Porto Exterior is open until midnight, so you have time to linger.
