Timeline

  1. 09:00

Palais Saint-Pierre / Musée des Beaux Arts

Start your day at the Palais Saint-Pierre / Musée des Beaux Arts. Arriving at 09:00 on a spring morning lets you explore the ancient Abbey of Saint-Pierre-les-Nonnains in relative peace before the crowds arrive. The early light in the cloisters is perfect for quiet reflection.

  2. 10:00

    Nardone

Walk seven minutes to Nardone for a snack. This spot is famous for its original ice cream flavors served on a pleasant terrace. If you are visiting on a sunny weekend, be prepared to queue, but the wait is worth it for a real ice cream fan.

  3. 10:30

    Le Layon

Head to Le Layon for lunch. Located just eight minutes away, this restaurant offers very good classical local and French cuisine away from the tourist traps. Try the grenouilles (frogs) and enjoy the nice terrace. It serves all day, making it a flexible choice for a relaxed midday meal.

Local tip

Nardone gets completely overcrowded on sunny weekends. If you are visiting then, arrive early or be ready to queue. Le Layon is open for lunch and dinner daily, so you can take your time.
