Best time: 15 JanuaryAbout 75 min

Timeline

  1. 16:37

    Nardone

Grab an ice cream at Nardone. It is worth the wait if you are a fan, but be prepared for queues on sunny weekends. The terrace offers a pleasant place to people-watch while you eat.

  2. 17:07

    Fourvière basilica

Walk up to the Fourvière basilica. The white marble structure stands out against the darkening sky. Find a spot near the edge of the terrace or the steps facing WSW to watch the sun go down.

  3. 17:52

    Au 14 Février

End the evening with dinner at Au 14 Février. This tiny restaurant offers a unique surprise menu by Chef Tsuyoshi Arai. You must book at least two months in advance and tell your waiter what you do not like.

Local tip

The basilica is open until 17:00, but the terrace access for sunset viewing is generally available outside mass times. Check the mass schedule if you plan to arrive very early. For dinner, booking is essential.
