Timeline
14:00
Grab an ice cream at Nardone. The terrace is pleasant, but be prepared to queue if it is a sunny weekend. The wait is worth it for the original flavors.
14:15
Walk nine minutes from the ice cream shop to St Paul church. Admire the mixed Romanesque and Gothic styles, with parts dating back to the 10th century.
14:45
Head to the Esplanade de Fourvière, a nine-minute walk from the church. This panoramic viewpoint offers the best look over the city, and on clear days you can see Mont Blanc in the distance.
Local tip
If you need a drink after your walk, Paddy's Corner is a perfect little pub in the Croix-Rousse area, just a short walk away.
