Timeline

  1. 08:00

    Phou Si Hill

Start up Phou Si Hill early. The trails are quiet in the morning heat, and you will have the summit to yourself for a while. Take the path just across the road from the Royal Palace for the easiest climb.

  2. 08:45

    Nang Tao

Walk down from the hill to Nang Tao for a proper Lao lunch. Their larb is a local favorite, and the staff are friendly enough to help you navigate the menu even if they do not all speak English.

  3. 09:45

Ock Pop Tok Living Craft Centre

Head to Ock Pop Tok Living Craft Centre. The free tour runs until 16:30, so you have plenty of time to see how traditional weaving and dyeing work. It is an informative stop that shows the craft behind the textiles.

  4. 10:30

    Bistro 1960

Finish your afternoon at Bistro 1960. It is close by and open until 22:00, giving you a relaxed spot to sit and digest the day’s sights with a coffee or a meal.
