Timeline
16:34
Arrive at the Bear Rescue Centre and walk the path toward the waterfalls. The late afternoon light is soft and perfect for spotting the bears in their enclosures before the crowds arrive.
17:04
Walk the short trail to Kuang Si Butterfly Park. The NNE path from the falls entrance leads you into the dappled shade. This is the prime window to see the butterflies active in the golden light before they settle for the night.
17:19
Find a spot near the waterfalls to watch the sunset. The sun sets toward the W, casting a warm glow over the turquoise pools and the surrounding limestone cliffs.
18:04
Return to the Bear Rescue Centre area as darkness falls. The site is closed, but the adjacent paths are quiet and safe for a slow walk back to town, leaving the bears to their rest.
Local tip
The Butterfly Park is a short walk from the falls entrance. Check the shuttle schedule if you need transport from the main entrance, as walking back up can be steep in the dark.
