Grab a bite at Nisha Restaurant. The vegetarian and vegan options are excellent if you want something light before the climb. It is just a short walk from the gallery.
16:30
Walk up Phou Si Hill. The trail from the road near the Royal Palace is a direct route. Spend the next twenty minutes finding your spot on the summit. The view dominates the city and offers a clear line of sight to the west.
17:20
Watch the sunset. The sun sets toward the WSW, casting a warm glow over the Mekong and the rooftops of Luang Prabang.
18:00
La Silapa Italian & Lao Restaurant
Head down to La Silapa Italian & Lao Restaurant for dinner. The garden setting is lovely, and the fresh pasta or Parmesan aubergine is a perfect way to end the evening. Note that it opens at 17:00, so it is ready for you.
Local tip
Phou Si Hill can be busy with tourists and monks at sunset. Arriving early gives you a better spot on the rocks or steps. The walk down to La Silapa is short and well-lit in the evening.
