Timeline

  1. 16:58

    Café A Brasileira

Have a coffee at the counter of this classic 1920s café, where Fernando Pessoa once sat. The standing price is the cheapest option.

  2. 17:13

Jardim de São Pedro de Alcântara

Walk 9 minutes northwest to the terrace of Jardim de São Pedro de Alcântara. This lovely garden sits atop the Elevador da Glória and offers an excellent panorama of the city.

  3. 17:38

Jardim de São Pedro de Alcântara

Watch the sun set toward the WSW. The view from this terrace captures the Baixa streets and the river as the light fades.

Local tip

The Santa Justa Lift line can be quite long, so it is better to walk up or use the elevator from the bottom if you need to cross the street, but for this plan, the nearby terrace offers a superior view without the queue.
