Timeline
15:30
Grab a coffee at Valhalla Wine & Coffee. The space is filled with cosy antique furniture, and there is an outdoor garden if the air is crisp.
16:05
Walk to the Amber clock. This sundial-shaped design object is made from thousands of pieces of amber donated by locals. It is a striking public art piece on the promenade.
16:30
Head to St. Meynard's Church for sunset. The building is unique, having been a gift from the Vatican after serving as their pavilion at Expo 2000 in Hannover. It sits southeast of the city centre, offering a peaceful backdrop to the sun dipping below the horizon.
17:15
End the evening at Restaurant Piano. It is open late and provides a warm place to settle in after the cold air.
Local tip
The walk from the Amber clock to St. Meynard's is about 32 minutes. Check the route if you want a shorter path, as the church is not in the city centre.
