Timeline

    Moritzbastei & Cafe Barbakane

Grab a coffee or a light bite at the student club cafe. The underground cellars are cozy and the atmosphere is lively, even in the afternoon. It is a great place to wait out the early part of the day before heading up.

  2. 15:51

    Panorama Tower

Walk to the Panorama Tower. The observation platform offers a sweeping view of Leipzig. Arrive just in time to see the sun dip below the horizon toward the SW, painting the sky in warm tones. The restaurant inside is also an option if you want to eat while watching the light fade.

  3. 17:01

    Zills Tunnel

Head to Zills Tunnel for dinner. This German restaurant serves large portions of Saxon food in a rustic setting with a cellar or terrace. It is a solid, traditional choice after the view. The tunnel courtyard adds character to the evening meal.

  4. 18:01

    Auerbachs Keller

End the night at Auerbachs Keller. This medieval pub is one of the oldest continuously operated pubs in Germany. The barrel cellar is a historic backdrop, though it is usually reserved for private parties, so the main bar area is where you will enjoy a drink. It is an expensive but iconic spot to close the evening.

Local tip
