Timeline

  1. 13:10

    Im Herz und Jetzt

Grab a coffee or hot chocolate at this quiet café and encounter space. It is open from 13:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, or 10:00 on Wednesdays and Fridays. If you are visiting on a weekend, it opens at 12:00. This ensures you arrive while the space is calm and the light is soft.

  2. 13:40

    Johannapark

Walk from the café into Johannapark. The park is large and peaceful in the mid-afternoon. You can wander along the paths near the center before heading toward the southwest edge where the park landscape begins to merge with its neighbors.

  3. 14:10

    Vereinsgaststätte Zum Parkstübl'

Head to the Vereinsgaststätte Zum Parkstübl' inside the Clara-Zetkin Park area. This is the perfect spot for a late afternoon snack or a drink. It is located just a short walk from the park paths. The terrace is pleasant in the daytime. Note that it is closed on Fridays.

  4. 14:45

    Clara-Zetkin Park

After your break, continue walking westwards into the Clara-Zetkin Park. This area feels like a collection of several distinct green spaces. The walk is gentle and takes you deeper into the tree-lined avenues. You can explore the different sections at your own pace.

The connection between Johannapark and Clara-Zetkin Park is seamless. Look for the signs pointing toward the Palmengarten if you want to extend your walk further south into the Leipzig Auenwald. The café opens early on weekdays, so arriving by 14:00 gives you the best chance to find a quiet seat before the after-work crowd.
