Golden Hour at Cousteau’s Dolphin

Grab a drink, catch the last light on the beach, and wind down in the park.

Best time: 18:27About 90 min

Timeline

  1. 17:42

    Bar San Remo

Start at Bar San Remo, a cozy spot with pool and darts. Order a beer or cocktail and find a seat near the window or outside to watch the light change.

  2. 18:07

    Playa de Las Canteras

Walk 13 minutes south-southwest to Playa de Las Canteras. Find a spot on the northern section where the sand is golden and the water is calm. This is the city’s symbol and the best vantage point for the view.

  3. 18:27

    Monumento a Jacques Cousteau

Watch the sun dip below the horizon toward the WSW. The light turns warm and soft over the water, casting long shadows from the dunes. The dolphin sculpture nearby seems to swim in the golden haze.

  4. 18:47

    Parque Pino Apolinario

Stroll 21 minutes north-northeast to Parque Pino Apolinario. It is a quiet green space just inland from the beach. Sit on a bench or the grass to let the evening coolness settle in.

Local tip

Bar San Remo is open from 11:00 to 01:00, so you have plenty of time to arrive early and secure a good seat. The walk from the bar to the beach is straightforward along the coast. Parque Pino Apolinario is a peaceful end to the evening, away from the main beach crowds.
