Pick up a warm pastry or coffee from Second Drop Farm. The bakery and cafe are open and it is the closest spot to the park entrance.

Walk from the farm to Balance Rock State Park. Follow the signs along Balance Rock Rd. to find the large rock balanced on top of a smaller one. Find a clear view of the rock facing west.
16:45
Watch the sun set toward the WSW. The golden light hits the rock just before the sun dips below the horizon at 16:45.
17:15
End the evening with dinner at Olde Forge Restaurant. It is a staple for fried food, wings, and beer, and it stays open until 22:00.
Local tip
Check the route to Balance Rock Rd. if you are driving. The entrance is marked by a sign, but there is no numbered street address.
