Start at Tsusenen Garden. Arrive right at opening to enjoy the 3,000 azalea bushes in peace before the day gets busy. The garden grounds also offer a clear view of the Seto Inland Sea.
11:00
Walk 15 minutes from the garden to Yasunoya for lunch. This is the first restaurant in the Shimotsui area to serve dishes featuring the locally caught octopus that is famous in the region. It is open from 11:00 to 21:00, so your timing is perfect.
12:00
Head to Washuzan Highland Park for the rest of the afternoon. This Brazil-themed park offers a variety of activities including rides, live performances, and the unique pedal-powered SkyCycle. It is a short 55-minute walk from the anchor point, or check the route for easier transport options.
Local tip
The azaleas are in full bloom in April, making this the ideal time for the garden visit. If you prefer a later start, the park activities remain open into the evening.
