Walk south to Green Lake Park. Arrive just as the golden light begins to hit the water and lotus plants. The park is a mellow hang-out spot, and the evening light makes it particularly pleasant.

Head to Shiping Huiguan, a traditional Yunnanese restaurant in an old courtyard just steps from the park. The building itself is a reason to visit, and the food is very good. Try the river shrimps or the plate of various fried insects if you are feeling adventurous.

End the night with a drink at Salvador's Coffee House. It is open until 23:00, giving you plenty of time to wind down after dinner.
Local tip
Green Lake Park is a popular local spot. The evening atmosphere is relaxed, but it can be busy with musicians and locals practicing in the morning. For the best quiet sunset view, stay until the light fades.
