Watch the sunrise at 09:02. Although the mansion faces west, the eastern horizon glow will illuminate the sky behind you, casting long shadows across the park’s rhododendron collection and the water beyond.

Stay for the golden light starting at 14:51. This is the prime moment for photography. The low angle of the sun will bring out the textures of the trees and the architecture. Since there are no food shops nearby, bring your own coffee or snacks to enjoy while the light hits its peak.
Local tip
The sunrise is quite late in January (09:02). Check the weather forecast closely, as winter clouds can obscure the view. The park is large, so wear warm, waterproof boots.
