Timeline
15:21
Grab a hot drink or snack inside the zoo entrance while it is still open. The zoo closes at 15:00 in winter so you must enter before then to access facilities, but you can buy provisions at the gate or nearby if available. Check the route for the nearest shop if not inside.
15:51
Find a spot near the Indian elephant enclosure or the open grassy areas facing west. The sun sets toward the WSW, offering a clear view of the sky lighting up the animals' silhouettes.
16:06
Watch the sunset. The golden light starts at 15:12 and the sun dips below the horizon at 16:06. Enjoy the quiet moment as the day ends at the zoo.
16:36
End your visit with a short walk through the dimming zoo grounds. The zoo is closed by 15:00, so ensure you have exited or are in a designated viewing area that allows evening access. If the zoo is closed to general public after 15:00, exit the gate and head to a nearby café in the surrounding area for a post-sunset drink.
Local tip
The zoo closes at 15:00 in January. You cannot stay inside past this time. Plan to buy your snack and enter before 15:00, find your viewing spot, and be ready for sunset at 16:06 from within the grounds if evening access is permitted, or exit just before closing and view from a safe distance if not. Check the route for evening transport out.
