Timeline
15:06
Start with a sweet treat and a warm drink at Søtt Cafe & Bakery. Their pastries are perfect for fueling the short walk up the mound, and the cozy interior is a nice warm-up before the chill of the evening.
15:32
Walk 26 minutes from the anchor (Muzeum Etnograficzne) to Krakus Mound. This artificial mound of great age offers a quiet, elevated vantage point. As you climb, keep an eye on the sky. The path is straightforward, leading you away from the museum district and into a more open, historic space.
16:06
Watch the sunset. On 15 January, the sun sets at 16:06 toward the WSW. From the top of the mound, you have a clear view of the horizon. The golden light that started at 15:11 will be fading now, leaving a soft, blue twilight over the city. It is a moment of stillness in the middle of Kraków.
16:36
End the evening with Gąska, a regional restaurant located 16 minutes from the mound. After the cold air outside, head here for hearty Polish cuisine. The atmosphere is traditional and welcoming, making it the perfect place to warm up and reflect on the day.
Local tip
The walk from the cafe to the mound is short but involves an incline. Wear comfortable shoes. The sunset time is fixed, but the golden light fades quickly in winter, so arrive at the mound with enough time to settle in before 16:06.

- Søtt Cafe & Bakery closes at 16:00, so ensure you finish your drink before the sunset moment.
