Timeline
15:21
Grab a pasta or pizza at Makaroniarnia. The riverside location is pleasant, and the food is generally good if the timing is right. It opens at 10:00, so you have plenty of time to eat before heading to the park.
15:41
Walk to Bednarski Park, located behind St. Joseph's Church. The park was established on a former limestone quarry and has a unique, slightly run-down atmosphere that feels distinct from the polished old town. Arrive here to find a quiet spot as the sun begins its descent.
16:06
Watch the sunset. The sun sets toward the WSW, casting long shadows across the industrial remnants and greenery of the park. This is the perfect moment to take in the unique atmosphere before it gets dark.
16:51
Head to Euskadi for dinner. This Basque tapas restaurant is a short walk from the park. The portions are small or tapas-sized, so order several dishes to share. Reservations are recommended, especially for dinner.
17:36
End the evening with a drink at Cawa / Drukarnia. The ground floor is a café that stays open until 22:00, or you can go down to the basement club for concerts and disco if you want to keep the night going. The club is open until 01:00 on Sundays and Thursdays, and until 03:00 on Fridays and Saturdays.
Local tip
Bednarski Park is best appreciated when the light is low. Avoid midday when the industrial structures can look stark. The park is open, but lighting conditions change quickly at sunset.
